AirAsia to deliver breast milk to infants across Thailand

BANGKOK (Jan 27): Low-cost airline AirAsia has started to deliver frozen breast milk for infants nationwide via its network in Thailand starting on Thursday.

AirAsia and Public Health Ministry’s Department of Health signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the  delivery of breast milk to infants in a campaign billed “Association to Send Love, Delivering Breast Milk from Mothers to Children”.

Under this initiative, AirAsia will be transporting frozen breast milk across its Thailand domestic network, free of charge to users registered to LINE account @anamaimilk, in strict adherence to all department regulations.

Head of People and Culture AirAsia Thailand Thiladee Pantumchinda, in a statement, said AirAsia, which has the most domestic routes and regional connections, has resolved to work with the Department of Health in a drive to deliver breast milk across the Kingdom at no charge for this important cause.

“There are many current contexts for this service, such as working far from home or attending important engagements, that make it inconvenient for mothers to breastfeed their children, as well as matters of time and storage that impact the nutritional quality of breast milk when transported.

“The effort has received strong support, even amid the COVID-19 situation, and we are very proud to be playing a small part in alleviating this cost for mothers and helping children to be able to drink their mothers’ milk no matter how far they may be from one another,” she said.

She said the the airline has had many opportunities to work with the Department of Health on transporting breast milk over the past years, starting with shipments to the northeastern region, and now the entire nation.

Thiladee added that AirAsia transportation is operated with the highest health standards and at great speed.

Anyone who wishes to have their breast milk transported at no cost by AirAsia simply has to register with messaging application LINE account @anamaimilk, and review transport routes and schedules using AirAsia Super App.
